Valve adjustment
#16
My engine has always had a bit of something which sounds like cam rattle. It seems to come from cylinder 1. It’s been on my to-do list for over a decade. Will be interesting if I get in there and do an adjustment and it doesn’t make a difference. Would be nice to eliminate the rattling, because as you say, it makes the engine sound like a VW beetle.

Could well be an exhaust port gasket... If so there might be a sooty witness mark around it.

Not sure who you’re addressing Rich, but I have a whole new exhaust system, perfectly sealed. Still the noise persists. I’ll get it fixed one day.
