2021 National Event - DOC 25/DMC 40 - 19-20 June 2021
#16
I had considered that William, but the Scramble (a multi make meet up) is not until the first weekend in October, and if the
weather is a bit iffy, it wont be much fun as we'll all be cold and wet.
I think September would be a safer bet (fingers crossed) with the weather, but we'd be on our own and have the Heritage Centre
to ourselves.
Thats why I was thinking of seeing if any of the Renault Clubs fancied joining us as there is the link between Renault and DMC with
the engine and gearbox.

I like the idea of that Claire...we did it many years ago and I seem to remember I won first prize in my newly converted BTTF car?

With Rob Lamrock now saying that Eurofest is being postponed, do we want to bring our event forward to
the Summer months of 2021?

We could then perhaps incorporate our event into a 'Scramble' at Bicester Heritage and see if the Renault
boys (and girls) want to join us at Gaydon - and as you rightly remembered Chris, in 2003 when the DOC-UK
were guests of the ROC at Gaydon, your BTTF car won the prize for the best Non Renault Guest.

2003 Claire? Could it really have been 17 years ago!!!

You know what they say.."life is what happens to you whilst you are waiting for your dreams to come true".

My thought for the day!

I remember those 2003 days. I had a working DeLorean back then.

Should the world be safe, I had planned on a 2021 Eurofest, so I'm happy to do an Summer event. I doubt I'll be in a DeLorean, but still, it might be the first event I get to (assuming NEC isn't happening at this point).

That was very prophetic Chris, and yes it was 2003. I'd only just got Flopsy registered at that point. IIRC, Jan van de Wouw
attended from Holland with his old car.

Okay, well what I'll do is make enquiries with the venues for next Summer, say early June, and see what they come back with.

Better get my car fixed in time!

Okay, update:

Bicester Heritage are doing their 'Summer Scramble' on June 12th and are happy to give us a Club Stand.
This means we'd do Gaydon on Saturday 11th June.

Shall I go ahead and confirm this with the venue's (assuming Covid doesn't continue to p*ss on our chips) ?

I'll sort out the hotel too, I'm looking at a couple of Premier Inn's with attached restaurants near the M40 which
are convenient for both venues.

It'll be good to be able to get everyone together. Covid has already ruined so many things, writing off 2020. Hopefully it won't write off any more years. Even being in June, it's not likely to clash with Eurofest, as that looks to be postponed until 2022 now. Lets see if Lexi-baby will let me get her on the road by June now!

As someone who goes to Bicester alot it is a great venue if you get in touch with classic oils (fuzz townsend) they might be able to sort something out to make it a little bit special. I go there with the car club I belong to and they open it up for us put on a couple of demo's with different oils and cleaning stuff. Thanks Nick

cheers for the heads up Nick, I could do with Fuzz and Tim whisking 2292 away, but we can all dream lol

I'll get in touch and see if he wants to be involved.

I'll be contacting the Premier Inn's I mentioned near the M40 this week to try and sort those out, then we are
good to go regards getting everything in place.

Now we just need CV19 to do one before next summer.......
