VIN 6367 For Sale on Ebay
#1
Project car on Ebay located in Gateshead, lots spent but still needing a fair bit of work:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Delorean-DMC-1...SwYXVYyW6K
No pictures of frame unfortunately so worth asking for some but plenty of other pictures on listing.

Hi

think he is optimistic on the likely price...

that car needs some serious work, a few weekends is not going to touch it (ignoring any frame work!)

sound like he is expecting low 20's for a non runner, in what looks like fairly poor condition.

body in fairness looks ok..engine looks rough, never like to see air housing, coil housing missing etc. I would say black hose replacement better than the garish blue.

it looks like the interior needs a fair amount of work...he does mention new dash.

maybe needs struts all round.

so to the early teens seems a fair price......it looks like a BBC type project car.

Yep, I think it's more work than implied, don't like to see the engine in the condition that it's in (even the venturi flap is missing) I suspect more work is required there than let on. That been said some money has been spent and project cars are rare in the UK so it will get to a fairly high price. If the buyer goes through with the deal is another thing...... far to many time wasters on Ebay so a serious buyer may get a deal when the sellers been messed around a few times. Interestingly (well for me) it was a car that was not known to be in the UK.

We all know it's going to take more than just a few weekends to fix this car. There are too many unknowns and some of the description doesn't match the pictures. New seats? er they don't look new to me. New headliner? nope. New tyres? maybe the fronts but the rears say 1701, which is manufactured the 17th week of 2001!! Also those fascias are very warped and would need more than just paint. Bit of a lazy advert for someone looking for 'top dollar' I think he's more interested in showing off the ferrari than the DeLorean lol
The auction will show what it's worth :p

Hi Guys

Agreed, not saying the ad is dishonest, but we are all mates in the D comunity, and i like to be compeltely honest in anythign i would sell, and like to think others are two, as i would hate someone to buy thinking a couple or £500 quid is going to get a finished car.

so adive for any buyers...look very well at what is on offer, particularly need to see the frame, and certainly for that much money see the car.

i would also go as far as ask for it to run, albeit for a few moments perhaps.

has had some work done so cant see why for a few £££ that it could not be running, even if not well.

i would be a bit wary, as things like even door struts have not been changed which is a half hour job.

why sell as is when for a few hours work could be running, driving round the yard etc, which would make it worth much more money.

it looks not much different to the BCC projects.

Sold for what I thought was a reasonable £15,300 however now re-listed with an over optimistic asking price of £22,000 Huh
