DMCL Shipping Damage Oct 1981
#1
Saw these photos on an ebay listing last week and thought they were interesting enough to share.

One of the ships taking DeLoreans to the east coast encountered 'Extremely Heavy storm weather' and damaged 15 cars!

Here are the pictures

Found a document on the Internet that shows there were 501 DeLoreans on the 'DYVI Kattegat' ship...

It's a shipping Calendar of how many cars, when they departed/arrived and the name of the ship.

The Manifests may be out there somewhere too...

Cumulative number of Cars / Units sent to the US.... which by my calculations is just over 8000 cars shipped in a year of production... which leaves close to 1000 cars handled by Consolidated International once DMC went into administration.

Just remembered out of that last 1000 cars 50 went to the Middle East, 50 odd stayed in the UK /Europe and maybe one more shipment of 82 cars went to the DMC QACs

Fascinating. First time I've heard of this - I wonder about the VINs and whether the owners have any clue (not that it'd matter, but still interesting history!)

To be fair, the last few lines are just predictions of the number of cars that were to be shipped. I haven't seen anything that shows that they were.

Anyway, here is the manifest for the first shipment, Continental Hwy. I haven't seen any others yet.
