iPad Mini In-Dash Install in VIN 1880
#16
a boss came with mine and I have another similar one as well, so I'm sure I make it fit.

Anybody know where I can get a DMC badge for the centre?

Houston used to offer the adapter and the wheel, but no longer Sad From dmctalk I've seen you can modify a GM Adapter to do the trick, but haven't found one that would work for me yet.

It may not be as pretty as the one on the above steering wheel, but you could always see what a round DMC enamel badge would look like stuck in the centre. I'm sure you could have a bespoke badge made, but the above steering wheel pad has an oblong recess for a badge so that could be tricky getting the right size until the recess is measured. You could have always stuck with your original wheel and bought one of them DMC embossed centre pads from Welmoed here...

Actually on second glance it could be a double pinned lapel badge pushed hard into the centre, or a unique style grill badge with two threaded bars and nuts on the back and tightened hard to cause the recess.... Got to be aware of all the possibilities!

I am using the DMCH steering wheel adapter that was available several years ago. The DMC logo in the center was offered by someone on DMCTalk last year before they were ordered to quit selling it. I am sure any sign shop could make you something to fill that area.

[quote] "before they were ordered to quit selling it."

I had discussions with a copyright lawyer the other day who was asking about our DMCL name, …..it would seem that , its "protect it of loose it", so DMCH have little choice but to bring down the "heavy hand" if they intend to protect their trademark . Of course its good news for the lawyers I suppose!

I don't use DMC talk …..so if someone were to locate one, or had one in stock from before the ban...…... i'd be very happy boy. ... email me privately please.

It does raise the bigger question regarding any "classic car", how modifications from "stock" may effect its future value and are they easily reversible?

Future generations will be cherishing these cars long after we are all pushing up daisies.
Thanks, Chris. It is a Momo steering wheel, I believe you can still buy them. And my car is far from "stock", but its just how I want it! Smile

Patrick, that is pure perfection right there. I was very impressed with your recent video showing off the iPad in action, and love the stance and wheels you have on the car. 8)

Thank you! I am shocked by the amount of worldwide attention my car has received this week.
