On behalf of everyone at Love Productions and Channel 4 I would like to say a massive thank you. Each and every one of you has been involved in a fantastic series featuring 6 iconic, British cars and we hope that we have done you and your chosen, beloved vehicle proud.
The first episode of the 7-part series of For the Love of Cars will broadcast on Sunday at 8PM on Channel 4. This first episode is all about the brilliant Ford Escort Mexico. So please do tune in!

Just have to say that I watched the Escort Mexico episode and absolutely loved it. I personally thought that the mix of restoration and interviews with the various people involved with the Escort past and present was spot on. Enjoyed every minute. Can't wait for the next installment.

I cant agree more, it's always subjective I suppose some (including me) would like to see more of the restoration/work done Etc, but there trying to make it as much about the history of the cars so there is a balancing act to it. From reading lots of different forums the series seems to have been well received so far. And from watching the Stag having to be pushed around we were not the only ones to suffer a breakdown :wink: I'm really looking forward to the Land over episode apart from really being a fan of the series one the restoration was top notch.

As an FYI the DeLorean is going to be episode 6. They are still editing the last few episodes. Whilst they wanted the DeLorean to be an earlier episode it has been delayed due to problems with getting permission to use old film footage. Or something along those lines!

I apologise to the forum now for my car breaking down during the filming for this. It didn't look cool, particularly as I clearly didn't have a clue what had gone wrong (it turned out that the otterstat chose that exact moment to fail). I'll be watching the episode through my fingers. I shall expect beatings at the next meet.

On checking channel 4's website, episode 4 next Sunday is on the Mini. What's the betting the D episode is last?

:lol: As Mike wrote, really don't worry about it at all, these things happen. As Mike also wrote there constantly showing the Stag being pushed around so I'm sure that will be remembered for a lot longer, at least when your's broke down you got a good audience 8)
Hopefully the next magazine will be out in the next week or two with a huge write up from me and Richard along with lots of pictures of the filming. It should tie in well with the programme coming out.

Strictly no :wink: the 'restored car' broke down on the track day in December (starter motor failed) and we were push starting it! Though I very much doubt if this is shown.
