Enchantment Under the Sea BTTF theme Wedding
#1
Hi all,

We're getting on May 10th 2014 in Bridgnorth, Shropshire & would love to hire someones Delorean as a focal point for about an hour so our guests can have their pictures taken with the car.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

The bride - Chloe Smile

It will likely cost you quite a bit for transportation for a BTTF Delorean as we are all at least a couple of hours each way from you! I'm sure there are a few owners with stock Deloreans that are much nearer to you, which will be far more cost effective. If there are no members available here, try the other Delorean forum. Smile

Let's face it, when Steven sees a hire request you know the cash registers will be going off in his head, he is only here to advertise and see what work he can pick up which is clearly evident by his posts.

I’m still perplexed as to why he hasn’t been shown the door on this forum yet.

Steve, Steve....Steve  When reading, please take the time to read it ONE word at a time. I was including myself in the above response as I myself would have had to transport my car. I'm just offering our guests honest, friendly advice as to best suit their budget and the nearest person to them.

Mike pretty much nailed your attitude with his response. :x

His strange vendetta seems to prevent understanding Malc. I'm fairly sure every other person will read it exactly how it was intended. I guess aggressive business men trawling the only forum they are allowed on, don't want to share and/or enjoy ownership

Hi Chloe,

Firstly I think the idea of an Enchantment under the Sea dance is brilliant and a great wedding theme. Obviously the band would have to play an appropriate track-list!

Secondly, there are lots of people on here and elsewhere who would like to be able to help have a Delorean as part of the 'theme'

Steve and Luke both have fully-kitted-out Back-to-the-Future-style cars, which would perhaps complement your theme more completely. The point being raised was that as neither are particularly close to you (one in Kent another in Yorkshrire) then the costs of getting eother to your venue could be expensive. I don't know who charges what, and Steve says he has storage at various locations so I can't comment.

If you were happy with a 'standard' Delorean (i.e no Back-to-the Future attachments) then obviously there are more of these cars about, and you may find one closer to your venue, and that the hire fees may accordingly be a bit less!

Good luck with your planning!

Miss xAbarth,

Bridgenorth in May, should not be too difficult for several of our local members. Some club members occasionally use their cars for such events, for a modest cost, which goes towards the general upkeep of their cars.

There are also people who do it commercially. This club is a group of like minded enthusiast, not a commercial undertaking.

My tip would be to hold off for a while, see who gets in touch and review the situation again nearer the time. You will not be left without a car, ............

(One of our members, Phil, now owns a car that used to be in the Bridgenorth Motor Museum. It closed after the owner got "banged up" for selling cars that didn't belong to him! )

I agree with you Mike. It seems no one can talk about car hire with out seemingly being attacked by BTTF Steve. This is delorean forum not a business forum for Steve's car!!!!

Rich and Chris summed it up perfectly Chloe. As per my initial post, I simply advised that you await a few responses as I'm confident there are people with Deloreans nearer you. I tend to try avoid transporting, not only because it takes the fun out of owning one of these amazing cars, but I also think it's fair to all owners here to have offered nice events near by.

I think it's important to note that although it may only seem like an hour or so, it's actually more often than not a full day for one of us with travelling, photos, storage times, cleaning etc. Smile

If it absolutely HAS to be a BTTF Delorean, I'm the closest to you, followed by Brian and also the popular chap above

Good luck, hope you get contacted by an owner close by! Rest assured that any Delorean here would make a truly memorable photo album. 8)

Hiya Chloe Smile

I do plenty of weddings with my (standard) car - and even though I was pregnant up until July, it didnt stop me
being out and about chauffering in mine Wink

I'm in Nottinghamshire though, so as with Luke and Brian with their BTTF cars, it would probably be prohibitively
expensive in fuel costs for me to cover the event for you, but if you get stuck, let me know, and I'll try and work
something out for you.

Best wishes! Big Grin

Rich, if you're nearer, it makes more sense for you to cover it if possible.
