Windshield Washer
#1
So for the past couple of weeks my windscreen washer hasn't been working. I took off the outer housing today so I could confirm the insides and noted the following;
  • Tank isn't leaking, housing wasn't flooded
  • When depressing the stalk, you can hear the pump motor running (or at least, buzzing )
  • If you disconnect the hose from the pump at the barb that connects it to the further tubing, the water flows out freely

I wasn't able to dig further tonight, but does this all sound correct so far? I suspect it's either a blockage in the barb or the tube leading to the actual washer jet on the wiper arm but want to make sure the water seeping out of the motor hose is normal when the motor isn't running, as I'm wondering if the motor is duff.

Yup, that's normal.

If the motor is running, it's probably a blockage it the jet nozzle...

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.
