Nice DeLorean on Ebay
#16
Phill's automatic is more economical then my 5spd manual and thats even if I try and
drive mine like 'Miss Daisy'.

I remember a former member of this Club being very impressed with #6772 and saying
it was the quickest auto he'd ever been in - and bar a de-cat, that car is totally standard
with no 'stage whatever' upgrades.

That's almost certainly due to engine tune or condition. The manual gearbox has less internal friction and allows the ratio to be kept closer to ideal across the speed range. A good modern auto can beat a manual on fuel economy, but definitely not a late 70s design.

even with nearly 60k on the clock, #6772 (auto), bar a de-cat, still has a factory standard engine thats
had nothing done to it bar normal servicing over the years.

Mine (#2292) on the other hand has had all sorts done to it and has done around 100,000 miles - but
then again mine was a non runner when it came from the US, and #6772 had always lead a pampered
life and been cared for by Rob Grady.
