My New Garage
#1
Hi all.... Following up from my previous post here....

viewtopic.php?f=15&t=4508

I am afraid to say that all good things come to an end....
I have enjoyed the time I have been there and I will be gutted to leave as this was one hell of a workshop! The ramp was a bonus and space was never a problem...
However the business rates on the premises due to its size are unaffordable for just a hobby, even shared between me and my mate. In excess of another £5k a year on top of what we are paying!

I have tryed the rates relief option but the rateable value on the property can not exceed £6000 for full benefit... £6001 to £11000 for 15% relief, an nil over £11001 The rateable value is £11750 on my property so the last week I have been locating the ultimate in boy's den's!

Needing to house 3 cars, a small caravan and my toy table, tools etc, I have decided to rent this unit by myself therefore not having to share my new tools and the contents of my valeting cupboard with anyone... Things have been a bit sketchy between me and my friend the last 6 months and I was half expecting him to pull the plug on his half of the unit anyway....

So this is the result.... I found somewhere closer to home....
Brand new build,
Relatively secure but I will work on that,
Metered Electricity,
New toilet block outside, with access to unmetered water,
No business rates... 1 flat monthly rate.
This is exactly what it will look like and it will be finished and ready to move in by the end of april hopefully......
Please note the pictures are only a guide and they are not to scale ;-)

It is a lot smaller than where I was but bigger than it looks... better still its all mine!

The first picture is of the same size unit but fitted out with a ramp so it will give you a better idea on the size... The following ones are of an empty unit but mine is being built as I speak...

Looks like I wont be having to sell my toys after all as first assumed!

Looks like there's enough height for 2 poster ramp too so who knows?

Thanks for looking, and check back for updates!
