Cooling Fans....
#16
Actually guys, the metro offerstat fitted perfect with no cable tie and no modifications, just plug and play. The only thing you have to remember is that is's an Austin metro stat, and not a Rover metro one. They are different slightly. As dan said, the later Rover ones are more of a 2 pin plug which need modifying rather than the spade connectors, which are present on the Austin ones. Either way, it works with no leaks etc, and kicks the fans in between 1/4 and 1/2 way up the guage, then taking the temperature below the 1/4 before they cut off. Same as the other one did from memory. And correct Nick, the metro one was £11, and the original part was 24 euro's which worked out at about £17. The extra bonus was Ed refunded me without any quibble, and I didnt even have to send the old one back.... Now that is a result!!! Cheers guys. hope you're all well.
