KnightCon 2011 : 30th September : West Yorkshire
#16
The show is set to run 10am to 7pm, but earlier is better.

I'll cross post the event running order as soon as I see it, in the meantime, two updates.

It appears that Dirk Beendict has fallen ill, and has been told not to fly for a couple of weeks so wont now be attending this year :-(

However, according to his own blog, the Hoff is planning on putting in an appearence.

The more DeLorean's the better, for those travelling up on Friday and planning to stop over, they are trying to organise a secure parking area (rahter than just the hotel car park).

ok John, we'll get there sometime between 9am and 10am on Saturday then.

Cant really do Friday, as Phill doesnt get home from work until stupid o'clock
most days.

Ideally a 9am start would be ideal, because the organisers are planning to put us at the front. The event starts at 10, be prepeared to drive slowly through crowds.

thats great news John, we're planning on leaving here about 8.30am, will try to get away earlier,
but it all depends on what plans Kezia has for us first thing in the morning.

Multimap reckons its about 55 miles from here, and its M-way all the way, so *should* be
an easy run up for us......

OMG, what a total blast today was, I havent laughed that much in ages.

Thanks for sorting today out John, we had a great time, I've probably got
several hundred pictures to go through now (which will go in an album on
the DOC-UK Photobucket site), although first things first, a nice cold
beer thats been chilling in the fridge all day Big Grin

I think tho, the pose that 'Wonder Woman' did on the front of Phill's De may
be giving him nightmares for some time to come lol

If this is on again next year, we'll be there - and hopfully next time Flopsy will
make it too, so that I dont have to slum it in the climate controled luxury that
is the Avi Wink

I'm pleased you all had a good time.

Quick repeated thanks to Rich and Steve who got persuaded to push my car out of the shopping complex (we drove them all in, but the site weren't happy, and wanted no engines run inside when we came to get out...)

To answer Chris's question, the brakes on my car had become contaminated with mud and stones.. a full strip down, clean and adjustment and all is well.

Your quite welcome John

And just a quick note to say what an absolutely great day it was!

You can certainly put my name down for that again!!!

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are not.

Guys after googling your owners club I came across this thread and I just want to say on behalf of Knightcon what a pleasure it was to have so many DeLoreans in attendance on the day, its quite heart warming to see that many of these cars in one place and it was a joy for Mike Scheffe also unfortunately he didn't get full chance to make it outside to see them all in a row, but I have passed on some photos from the day.
Fitting everything into one day was quite hectic not only for the Knightcon team but the guests as well, I think we about cleared out the all you can eat Chinese at the end of the event LOL!
The feedback has been very positive and I'm so glad that you had a good time on the day!

All the best

Stuart, it was great to be there, sadly I didnt get to meet Mr Scheffe or 'The Hoff',
but we had a great time and are really looking forward to next years event.

The location and facilities were excellent and I know from speaking to one of my
friends with the Dr Who people, they are certainly up for the next Knightcon too.

Roll on Knightcon 2012!! Big Grin
