Car wanted for filming, Birmingham area. 7th April
#1
Hi All. Copy of an Email sent to me, if any one can help please get in touch direct. Thanks

Hi Chris

I hope all is well – lovely chatting to you just now.

I am emailing you from the UK TV programme ‘The Gadget Show’ (Monday, Ch5, 8pm, Series 10 http://gadgetshow.five.tv/index.htm) produced by North One TV. ‘The Gadget Show’ is the UK’s flagship technology programme and we regularly attract 1.7 million viewers.

We are currently producing a feature on the history of the JVC GR-C1 camcorder (the camcorder featured in ‘Back to the Future)’. I am trying to track down a 1980s DeLorean as we would love to reconstruct the ‘Back to the Future’ sequence which involved this particular camcorder. Filming will consist of our presenter, Ortis Deeley doing pieces to camera inside the car and also driving it a short distance around the quiet streets near to our office. We have insurance in place to cover all scenarios.

We will be able to give the contributor lunch, reimburse their expenses, a ‘with thanks’ web credit plus a DVD copy of the programme. Filming will be taking place on 7th April at the below address between 11am – 1pm.

I would be most grateful for any help which you may be able to provide.

Best wishes

Charlotte

I made the call, things are in motion, awaiting for the final green light. They say it is for the TV show and they're quite excited about it all. I'll be sure to take some photos and write a little article for the next club mag if it all comes off.

Looks like someone else won the opportunity as they're going ahead with another DeLorean. Whoever it is, good luck!

Make sure you get lots of photos and share the experience with everyone. Big Grin

Evening all....

Guilty as charged..... I'm heading up there tomorrow morning Smile

Sorry about that Chris. It'll be nice to be kind of in front of the camera for once rather than behind it.

As promised here are some pics from the filming today for "The Gadget Show" on Five.

They have told me this show should be on Five on the 4th May

Great days filming though it was an early start. 5.30am I left home. Nice steady drive up the M1 and M6.
They're doing a piece on the JVC camcorder that was used in the BTTF films. I didn't realise, but this was the first domestically available camcorder and would have cost about £3,500 in today's money.

Anyway, enjoy.

I'm happy to say Maddie totally behaved herself. Though I have noticed it looks like my windscreen washer pump has given up. There's always something Smile
