thoughts on putting a carb on a delorean

Hello All, just been on dmctalk reading about a chap over the pond putting a carb setup on the d and getting rid of all the k-jet stuff. Aparently you can get a manifold off of a Peogeot or have one fabricated to suit. What does anybody think? Is it a wise move regardless of resale value and how difficult or expensive would it be to do over here. I've been looking at the pictures on there and the whole thing looks a lot simpler and easier to get to the other bits and bobs in the engine bay. Any thoughts??????

IIRC, the Peugeot version of the PRV was carburettored, so it might be
worth doing some digging on (I think) the set up on the Peugeot 604 and
seeing what the output and economy is like compared to the current set up.

For the time involved and the expense you would be safer just buying a Renault Alpine GTA V6, thats what I did anyway!

The Alpine has the same engine as the Delorean with the only defference being it has a Carb.

One added advantage is there is less wiring and loads more room to work on the engine, the big problem is starting the thing in the morning! The car will fire up straight away but then die, next turn of the key it will fire up and then run all say long. Sometimes on really cold mornings it will take an age to start, all of this is normal I have been told.

I was able to pick up a pretty mint Alpine for £2,400 a month ago, its great fun and handles pretty much like a Delorean. Its also bloody fast!

I know that in Capri-land its proven that junking the K-Jet on a 2.8 for a single 38DGAS weber carb will improve performance signifigantly with little effect on fuel consumption.
Sounds much better and far less to go wrong too... 8)

I bought a set of 45 Weber's for my DMC will only fit them when the fuel injection fails. But when i do they will sound great.
