I had the same - turned out to be at the seal where the fuel gauge enters the tank - just needed tightening up.

I would go with what you can afford. Either way - you will own a DeLorean! To me it's all about the frame and the engine. Everything else can be fixed as you are going along.

I can confirm, after a lot of pumping of the clutch , It now works beautifully! - A lot lighter than I was expecting. Unfortunately, the long flexi looks like an original fitting - Black plastic tube....
