The 2.2uF capacitor is for noise supression, nothing to do with the flasher. You'll find the car is covered in them. It was a (vain) attempt to reduce the amount of noise the Craig radio picked up.

Only on 'Heater'? The output from the mode switch goes to the Aircon Compressor and the Fan Blower switch The A/C comes on when set to MAX, NORM and BI LEVEL and the Fan Blower is switched on at all...
