yeah,

in the audio commentary for the third film Bob Gale says that the car was scored and wired with a small charge so that the effect would work right.

I always wondered where the engine went. I would guess that perhaps Doc would have removed it when he put the rail wheels on.

If I were doc I would have removed the 'End of track' buffer and the 1/4 mile warning sign and walked the track before mounting the experiment.

It made the sequence more exciting, i suppose Smile

I think i heard somewhere that the engine that came out of that car is now in the explode-a-view car. I might be wrong but can anyone shed any light.

So I hear the engine from that car from that scene is Andy snails old car.(explodaview).

This is interesting stuff.

Quote:One thing that always bugged me (yes, I know it is only a movie) was when was the last time that a train destroys a car and then doesn't bother to stop to take down any details. Probably the worlds forst rail 'hit & run'.

I think Maggie Thatcher was driving the train, thats why it never stopped. Big Grin

The enigine is out of a BTTF car that was built to advertise the film in England back in 85'.. IT IS NOT OUT OF AN ACTUAL MOVIE CAR.

"without prejudice"

The car is now owned by James Bourne of Busted/Son of Dork.

From what I've heard though, he cant get insurance to drive it on the road.

Must be gutting for the poor kid, to have his dream car sitting in the garage and not be able to drive it Sad

Thanx Ali. I knew it came out of something to do with the film. All the best

James Bourne featured a delorean in one of his musics videos with Son Of Dork.
