Starter Motor. - Chris Williams - 18 Jul 2007

Ok,
Me thinks my starter is on the way out, (well gone actually!) Whats the best way to test it? please.
2nd question, where do we go for service x change or remanufactured units? It's a paris-rhone unit I think and my car is a late vin so should not need the wiring mod.
Thanks
Chris

You could try Dave Howarth if you find it is well and truly bolloxed...

hi

take your starter out and put it a vice or somwere you can hold it put a good 12 volt surply to the staerter motor and see is it it goes ( the Rich H way) or take it all to bits remebering the way it goes back toegther and drown it in petrol this will clean it up like Rich done to mine if it some times starts and some times does not look at the starter wire that has a habit of going faulty then trace the wire back up to the relay and see if it has fell of or gone a bit burnt on the contacts like mine did

any way less of me going hope this helps if not ring for spares pj or ed uding they always have parts or as chris said dave h by the way talking to dave lastnight hes on a misson o cleaning the gaurge to find exrta parts Big Grin Big Grin
