Quick Question - your opinions. - Barson - 27 Sep 2006

Hello.

When I was looking over the engine compartment, shortly after I got the car, a mechanic friend and I noticed this:

The two should be joined by a small tube.

Can anybody tell me what difference not having the tube fitted will make to the running of the car?

It's only a little thing, but i thought I'd ask around first before I shell out for a 2" piece of tubing :p

cheers m' dears.

must have dropped off ...hell of a vacuum leak that Smile

Check all of your other vac pipes for correct routing and condition whilst you are there matey.

You will have poor acceleration while the engine warms up..not to mention the vacuum leak! Once the engine is up to running temp it will not make any difference as the vacuum is only supplied to that pipe when the engine is cold.

cheers lads.

I checked out the other tubes and they all seem to be in place and in relatively good condition. I'll install a new tube in there and see what happens.

As Dan said, it'll only be affected when cold.
