I have one of these kits sitting on a shelf, waiting for me to fit if any one needs a picture or any more info. (like finding the time to fit it)

Chris, if you mean the DPNW kit then lucky you; as they are currently out of stock.

Yes, thats's the one. with the £-$ so good at the moment there must be truckloads of parts coming over to the UK at the moment!

got mine just in time, then Smile

smeg! Guess who was thinking about ordering soon... I wonder how long it will take for the stock to recover...

- Barson - 11 Jul 2007

Well, you could e-mail them and ask.

Toby and Misty have excellent customer service. They'll be able to tell you straight off the bat.

Better dead than smeg.

$300 i will take mine out, tried and tested and all that Smile Smile lol

I know of 6 people now with these sets here in the UK .... no wonder Toby has run out ...

(but then once you take the 'old ones' out you can see why)

- Chris Hawes - 12 Jul 2007

I am having my rack refurbished and as the the steering will need re-aligning I may as well fit this kit too so that I don't have to have it re-aligned twice...

I have emailed DPNW to see how long it will be before the kits are back in stock...

Job done this morning

I don't know how Nick/Mike did it but boy are those bushings tight in the trailing arms. Perhaps next time (lol) put the bushings in the trailing arms first with the aid of a large nut and bolt and some large thick washers to 'pull' them in to the trailing arms. Just a suggestion.
Anyway the origional bushes were as before completely shot to bits to the point of the inner fell out of one.
Has not completly solved my small amount of wobble at the steering wheel when braking, but it IS better and true to form I think the handling is better,.

Changed mine as follows:

Removed anti roll bar and let all the old bushes fall out !
Cleaned out the original trailing arm hole to remove surface rust.
Sprayed silicon lubricant on the new bush
Aligned bush perfectly square with hole
Held piece of wood over new bush
Applied one big hit with a lump hammer to drive it in Smile
Used an old bush inbetween new bush and wood to make sue it is driven fully home.
Repeat for the other bushes.

Glad you've noticed the difference.
Maybe you have got some run out on the disk/hub or the wheel bearing hub nut has not been tightened to 150ft lbs torque.

NickT.

LOL! Yes i knew that part was coming.

Great job Chris, goes to show how 'past it' the old bushings are.

hmmmm..........got me thinking again about my 'clanging' noise when I'm doing low speed cornering (ie carparks, manouevering on the drive, etc).

Must get that sorted. Whens the next Norvern Techy Meet boys? If it ever stops raining I'll get the barby fired up and we can make a weekend of it Smile

What about august sometime?

I am a bit busy with work due to the floods around here until then.

I'll bring the piece of wood Big Grin
