How to remove manual gear knob? - andys - 01 Feb 2016 Hello all Hopefully a quick one. I am trying to remove my leather gear gait or to send off to get a replacement leather one made up with black leather and red stitching. I have tried to get 'physical' with the gear knob by trying to unscrew it, but don't want to put to much force into it. Does anybody know how these gear knobs are removed? Do I need to 'man up' and use 2 white knuckles and a grunt? Many thanks in advance. Andy Smith RE: How to remove manual gear knob? - Chris P - 01 Feb 2016 just unscrew it…..perhaps someone has used lock tight or similar.
