Not always. I've done various checks on different D's over the years. I've found that there are many permutations which are possible:
Delorean
De lorean
DMC
Dmc12
DMC-12
And the old favourite, the always sigh enducing, "delorian" :lol:
I'm sure there's others too. Also misspelled.

I believe that the FHBVC are speaking to the DVLA about 'standardising' for issues
such as this, as a number of manufacturers suffer from same problem.
Our 3 Toyota Sera's are all listed differently, one says Toyota, one says Toyota Sera,
etc
I think its more a problem with imported and unusual cars.
