Re: Deposit paid on Vin..... 005127. - MikeWard - 23 Jan 2015 Karl, I picked up the retrimmed interior from Lee Pattison yesterday. For comparison, here is the top of the centre console before Lee went to work on it: [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] Bear with me as I can only upload 3 images per post. Re: Deposit paid on Vin..... 005127. - MikeWard - 23 Jan 2015 And After: [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] Re: Deposit paid on Vin..... 005127. - MikeWard - 23 Jan 2015 Dash: [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] Re: Deposit paid on Vin..... 005127. - MikeWard - 23 Jan 2015 Binnacle: [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] Re: Deposit paid on Vin..... 005127. - MikeWard - 23 Jan 2015 Binnacle Cont: [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] One of the seats (the seat covers were changed before we got the car so were in good condition, Lee dyed these to match the rest of the interior): [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] Rear trim boards/side bolsters: [ATTACHMENT NOT FOUND] The pictures really don't do them justice (I will try and remember to take some decent shots once I've got the interior back into the car). Needless to say I am completely blown away with his work. Very highly recommended to anyone who needs any work doing to their interior. I'll stop hijacking your topic now Re: Deposit paid on Vin..... 005127. - 88mph - 23 Jan 2015 You're worst than that ISIS mob, Mike! Lovely top quality work, but what about prices & travelling/delivery hassle Mike? Will your Bentley work, fit my Beetle budget? Re: Deposit paid on Vin..... 005127. - MikeWard - 23 Jan 2015 88mph Wrote:Lovely top quality work, but what about prices & travelling/delivery hassle Mike?If you put a call into Lee and let him know what you need he will be happy to give you a price. Lee is based near Gillingham, which was about an hours journey each way from where I am. Ironically my daily driver is a sub £1000 car. Re: Deposit paid on Vin..... 005127. - Chris P - 23 Jan 2015 Some years ago I saw a really badly re-trimmed car at a Nottingham garage… I was truly awful, a complete waste of the £600 paid by the club member. I don't know what Lee would charge, but at least you know it would be a good job. In my Chrome plating days, I used to have a saying "some platers don't charge you much to wreck your bits"!…. I guess the same could be said for cheap trimmers. Re: Deposit paid on Vin..... 005127. - MikeWard - 23 Jan 2015 It's by no means a cheap exercise to have an interior re-trimmed, but I was happy with the price, and more than happy with the results. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. Re: Deposit paid on Vin..... 005127. - 88mph - 26 Jan 2015 Have had another poke around my D today, which resulted in more questions.............. What should this look like below the rear window? How does the cargo net attach?....... What is this connector for in the engine bay, the one with the green wires?.................. Should these hoses have retaining clips on them?...................................................... This new seal was put in the boot, any idea where it fits or what its for?...................... Thanks chaps! Re: Deposit paid on Vin..... 005127. - Chris Williams - 26 Jan 2015 Cargo net fixes via these 49,50,51 on this page: http://www.delorean.eu/catalog/index.ph ... h7a3qlsj66 Cant remember on the second one! Hoses are correct, it's a protective covering over the thermoplastic fuel lines. Not sure with out looking at my car! Chris Re: Deposit paid on Vin..... 005127. - 88mph - 26 Jan 2015 Two outa four ain't bad Chris! Cheers K. Re: Deposit paid on Vin..... 005127. - 88mph - 28 Jan 2015 Blimey, that was a pain in the neck, literally! Took the dash binnacle off today, as it needs recovering. The Owners Manual is so vague, but I got there in the end. For those that don't know, The pod is held on by the 6 little ( 6mm? ) nuts & it is a right game. Nasty.............. Re: Deposit paid on Vin..... 005127. - 88mph - 28 Jan 2015 Any tips on changing that awkward looking top door seal? Re: Deposit paid on Vin..... 005127. - MikeWard - 28 Jan 2015 Lee will be able to sort that binnacle easy. |
