Engine bay glass loose - Doive - 07 Oct 2014

I seem to be having great fun with the glass on my D...

The engine bay window on the driver's side is detached at it's rear end, and moves approx quarter inch inwards when pressed. It looks like this has been secured previously with double sided foam, but the other side is sealed with a black sealant, as is the cabin rear window - I presume the original factory finish?

Could this be repaired by any local window place, or would it require specialist attention?

Although by no means an expert on glass fitting I would suggest that it could be put back in place with the proper sealant without having to remove it. If it has to be taken out it's a nice easy panel to get off anyway!

I believe it's "tiger seal" (black of course) which is used to hold in all the side windows (doors and 3/4 panel) on the car.

depends if your car has the inset seal around the glass or whether the glass was bonded stright to the stainless?
