FFS... :? What on earth is going on? That's got to either be health and sodding safety or licensing, both of which don't care about the public, just lining their pockets.

Maybe so….but you'd have thought they would have got this sorted months ago!

I think the problem with that is in the title, secret. it's all very hush hush inc locations, so they cant get it set up too far in advance.

I completely agree Chris. It's just insane. I'm guessing it's to do with pyrotechnics as they'll be wanting to go all out for the special effects. Has the world lost all common sense? Just keep the public well back and have good emergency exits, it's not rocket science. I hope the director of the local council stopping all this gets his name revealed..

Secret Cinema Back to the Future screenings rescheduled for last Wednesday

Secret Cinema victims treated for lack of perspective

Re: Secret cinema back to the future - jwrayth - 30 Jul 2014

I'm perhaps the only person who is glad it got cancelled. After talking with them via email in advance of the event I got the impression they weren't up to the task, so when they cancelled I was glad to be getting a full refund.

Feel bad for all those who were put out and continue to be. Definite over-reaction by fans... but the Secret Cinema guys have really not handled it well at all. They still haven't messaged folks about why it was cancelled...

Re: Secret cinema back to the future - Chris P - 31 Jul 2014

I just hope all these cancellation refunds actually happen!

I was talking to an 'insider' the other day, it would appear that money is very short…especially when it comes to paying out wages or paying for services rendered. …or minor considerations like ensuring that fire regulations are adhered to. (very unimportant perhaps, unless there is actually a FIRE…with thousands of paying punters on site) They may have overreached themselves this time.

And why does this set-up have an "org" web address when it is now clearly a commercial organisation?…..£52 a head……?

Call me an old cynic if you like.

By my calculations the ticket sales would have generated 4.5 MILLION ! (84000 people at £53.50)

This show needs to be professional at this level.

Looks like a cringe worthy bit of am-dram that has now got out of hand...

I hope the car is looked after throughout the show.

Re: Secret cinema back to the future - Chris P - 31 Jul 2014

Apparently they didn't…..After covering it in dry ice it refused to start!

Re: Secret cinema back to the future - Chris P - 02 Aug 2014

Well, Secret Cinema seem to have finally got their act together. There is a quite "upbeat " review in Fridays Evening Standard.

It now runs until the end of Aug. So may well be worth a visit…..if you have £53 to spare.

Anyone been yet?

I went! Girlfriend managed to PR us in for free - it was pretty good!

I'm not really a huge BTTF fan, went mostly for the cars, so got a good spot on the corner of the 'Hill Valley" set. The interactive elements were really good - especially Doc on a zipline down from the clocktower to the green!

Was great seeing the time machines do laps, the cars looked great! I think Steve's car was the dry ice one which wasn't used much, and I guess it was Ollie's that did most of the action driving?

My brother went, huge nerdy BTTF fan, loved it apparently.
Was very impressed by the driving.
