Pilot bearing- 2RS? - andyd - 12 Jan 2014 Hi all, The knackered pilot bearing (along with various other tired bits) in 814 is getting replaced. Most photos I see for this bearing show a rubber shielded version. Presumably this will be a 2RS bearing... The existing bearing is very rough and has no rubber shield (visible, its still in the crankshaft, so may have one on the back, but I can't see that helping much!) Should the replacement be a 2RS bearing? Any problem with fitting a sealed 2RS bearing where its not specified? Cheers andy Re: Pilot bearing- 2RS? - andyd - 04 Mar 2014 To answer this, yes it should be 2RS. The one I removed with 2 metal shields actually had rusty marks on the inside face.... Unbranded and very rough indeed! |
