The rubber inside it is starting to fail, the sound you are hearing is a bit like trainers squeaking on a shiny floor....

I've just pressed a perfectly good pair of these out of a rear arm in preparation for fitting polybushes. Free to anyone wot wants one.

I had the same thing. It was the 2 bolts to the frame under the bonnet.
