Squeeky Front End - simid - 26 Jun 2013 Hi Everyone, Having had my Delorean now for 2 years, she's always had a squeeky front end. I thought it might had been the bushes in the shocks. Having not liked the stock ride height, I replaced them with Spax Shocks and Eibach springs, probably after 3 months having the car. But she still squeeks over bumps. The mob that replaced my springs and shocks said it might be the bushes in the suspension arms that need replacing. He didn't say that they looked like they needed replacing though. Anyone else have had the same annoying problem? I guess greasing the hell out of them wont cure the problem, unless it's something else? Re: Squeeky Front End - Chris Williams - 26 Jun 2013 Loose bolts that hold the tub to the frame perhaps?, don't know how well you could grease the bushes other than lubricate the bolts that run through the centre. Chris Re: Squeeky Front End - stunned_monkey - 26 Jun 2013 Anti roll bar bushes, almost certainly. Give them a little squirt of lube or better still replace them with this kit from DPNW http://delorean-parts.com/Merchant2/mer ... =K1006DP-C This is the best money anyone can spend improving their delorean's handling. And an easy product to fit to boot! Chris Re: Squeeky Front End - Guinney1971 - 26 Jun 2013 my car creaks and squeaks too over bumps, and also low speed turning - I also get a clanking noise (had it for years) on full lock, but never been able to find out what is causeing it. Wasnt sure if it was bushes or shocks or what, might be taking my car off the road for a bit once baby arrives, so will have a looksy then and see if there's owt obvious - but nothing has been reported on last few MOT's so its a bit of a mystery. Shame our dollar has dropped. Re: Squeeky Front End - simid - 26 Jun 2013 Guinney1971 Wrote:my car creaks and squeaks too over bumps, and also low speed turning - I also get a clanking No clanking for me, but sounds like we have the same prob. The PO said she she was like this for ages before selling her to me. Re: Squeeky Front End - Guinney1971 - 27 Jun 2013 I'll see if I can get a video of my car clanking on full lock to see if anyone can shed any light, but it cant be that bad if the MOT man has never picked up on anything suspension/steering related in the last 6yrs that its been doing it? Re: Squeeky Front End - Chris P - 28 Jun 2013 On a related subject , I have a loose body bolt. The big one, on the left hand side in the engine bay. It just spins around and i can't figure out how to tighten it up. Any ideas folks? Re: Squeeky Front End - Guinney1971 - 28 Jun 2013 Rich popped round last night to give us a hand with something, and he knows what my squeak is........... and its a complete b*tard job to sort too Re: Squeeky Front End - stunned_monkey - 28 Jun 2013 Chris P Wrote:On a related subject , I have a loose body bolt. The big one, on the left hand side in the engine bay. It just spins around and i can't figure out how to tighten it up. The captive nut into which it screws has bent the cage it lives in and is now spinning. You need to take the rear spring out to get access to wedge it in place with a screwdriver so you can do it up - or better still undo it so you can replace the square nut and copper slip a new bolt into place. I did a frame split recently and had to drill the head off one of these bolts, then pull the body off it and even with full access and knowing I didn't care about the epoxy (being galvanised) it was still a complete sod to remove!
