Heat Shrink - wires for switches and sensors in the engine.. - Barson - 21 Feb 2007

..bay

There's no problem in using heat shrink to wrap the wiring in the engine bay is there? I can't find a clear yes or no, which makes me think there isn't a problem

It'd just look neater, that's all. Some of the tape that's on the wiring ATM is melted and I'd like to replace it (wires themselves are good).

cheers big ears!
Barzo.

eh! my ears are perfectly formed and not sticking out at all !!! Smile

No reason not to use it... it makes things look pretty Smile

One thing I would say in this is that heatshrink will make the loom terribly stiff and difficult to form to the right profile.

Get some looming tape and retape it...
