A couple of videos - Emagine - 11 Feb 2007

Just a couple of videos that might be of interest.

Well today I thought I'd have a quick play with my new toy. Got it just before christmas but I haven't really had the time to mess about with it.
Anyway..... its quite interesting to see just how much the suspension moves about, even on the smoothest of roads. Oh and the mic was in the engine bay, tapped to the rear windscreen. I think I need to find a better place for it so there is less engine and more exhaust.

The second is a music video that featured my car. It was shot about 4 months ago now. Maddie only makes a brief cameo.... but its a pretty moody video. I quite like it..... not overly sure on the tune though.

Your video is great of the cam. mount Stuart.

The music video is weird, as the lyrics say the DeLorean is a 'drop top' muppets! Nothing original at all!

Stu! Did you get one of those Bullet cams in the end then? If so, which AV In camcorder are you using and also, lol sorry, were you using the suction cup mount you already had?

Music video was awesome, loved the shot of the doors opening. Its a small world, I had the track on my myspace profile not so long ago!

I always find suction cups don't hold very well on brushed stainless steel, even with a tiny web cam size camera....

How did you get yours stuck on securely? I guess you have safety belt just in case too, right?

Nice video BTW!

evening all...

I know tell me about it.... I didn't have the heart to tell them when I got on the shoot..... I thought I'd allow them to work it out for themselves lol!

I did get a bullet cam in the end yeah.... it was from these people:
http://www.rfconcepts.co.uk/helmet_cameras.htm
I got the one with the optical zoom.... though if I were to buy another one.... which I might when I set aside some more cash.... I wouldn't bother with the zoom bit.

The mount came from these people:

the suction mount they do. I had to modify it though to accomodate the larger diameter of my camera. Luckily I got my hands on some larger "C" clips so this was pretty easy.

If I were to buy minicam stuff now I'd also look at:
www.fastfilms.co.uk

The camera I used was a Sony PC-350E

Well, I do have the finer grain on my car as done by Chris Nicolson a whle back so I don't know if that helps. Also the mount I was using has 3 smaller suction cups as opposed to 1 big one, so that might help. Plus I just made sure the area was really clean and then I breathed on the suction cups before attaching them. As you can see they held dead solid and I was doing 70mph at the end of that vid.

And no I wasn't using a harness... I was relying on faith to keep them attached..... Smile
but seriously I was keeping and eye on the picutres the whole time.... if I saw it move I'd have slowed right down and stopped where safe..... still mucking about with this stuff..... so that on the next tunnel run I can get some nice pics Smile

Thanks for all the compliaments though guys.

Theres no wonder Suzie keeps getting the comment 'ha I saw your husband driving around Ware today!' 'I saw him while I was out getting lunch' for her to give a puzzled look and say nope he's at work. A delorean in the town where your other half works does cause some confussion Shock

hahahaha brillant!

I love stuff like that.... apparently I got "spotted" and it was posted on the slightly "chav-tastic" Herts Cruisers website site, pulling out of a road in Stevenage.

At the time my De was up in Norwich for the re-trim..... god knows who that was then..... anyone wanna own up?

Thanks for the info mate. I got my bullet cam and mounts from fastfilms. I just havnt been able to use the camera much as I dont have a camcorder with AV In, its very annoying so ive been all over the web and ebay trying to get a cheap one.

If you are filming on a car, and on a tight budget, you could try getting a old VCR recorder that runs on 12V/24V (just like those VCR players on older coaches) and record on that.

Or if you have a laptop, get a USB or PCMCIA capture card and record from that.

That's the cheapest method I could think of.

P.S. Some USB/ PC Card TV Tuner card also have the ability of capturing too! Then you will have a TV card to use when not filming

well it definately wasnt me Big Grin I moved out of Stevenage in March last year, and Flopsy had been moved to storage up here about 4 months before that Smile

Hmm......wonder who it was then? Pilgrims Way is right by the Wedgwood Way industrial estate in the north of the town.

Not guilty to that one either :!:
