A few questions to ease my searching - Dan Willis - 16 Jul 2011

Hi all,

It's been about 10 years since I last imported a DeLorean from the US, but I may be doing it again.. ahem.

I remember, vividly, that we now pay full whack on import duty, is that still the case? Does anyone know the figures off hand, or if anything has changed recently?

If they are what I think they are, I may be better off buying a UK car and selling the engine (don't wanna do that!).

Cheers,

Dan

I see the article on the main page.. I didn't think to look. I assume it's still correct.

Has anyone seen the car I'm thinking of? (I won't even need to link it.. and Claire, you'll know why I'm looking at the particular car!)

ayup Dan, I think someone (might have been Martin) worked out that importing
from the US now adds about 30% of the price of the car once its on your drive
so to speak.

I've not seen the car your thinking of Dan, you'll have to email me a linky to it

Anyway, stop faffing about and just buy a car, you know you want to Big Grin
