Washer Jet Bottles - Birksie - 19 Nov 2010 Don't suppose anyone has a spare one of these lying around? lol Filled mine up last week and it poored the entire contents all over the floor. ![]() By the sounds of things the washer pump isn't working either, so it definately needs replacing. Paul. Re: Washer Jet Bottles - stunned_monkey - 20 Nov 2010 The bottle is probably fine, are you sure the hose hasn't just come off the pump? Re: Washer Jet Bottles - Birksie - 20 Nov 2010 Hmm. Sounds more likely yes. Havn't had chance to check it out during the daylight. But I will tomorrow. It just seemed to be pouring out rather fast. Is the pipe from the pump wide enough to give a good free flow if it isn't connected? Re: Washer Jet Bottles - stunned_monkey - 20 Nov 2010 Well, it literally pi$$es out (think about it! ) Pump failures are common because the cowling fills up with water. When changing out a pump, always make sure: 1) Drill 4 large holes in the bottom of the cowling so it can't get filled up with rainwater. There is a small hole originally but a bit of mud will soon block it up 2) Make sure the pump seals properly to the grommet in the bottle. If a bit of grit gets in the way, the fluid leaks out and if you haven't done (1), fills up the cowling and kills the pump. That grommet can be a tricky so-and-so, especially if it comes apart. Re: Washer Jet Bottles - Birksie - 21 Nov 2010 Thanks Martin. |
