replacing papaer shims in block - Tourettes Tony - 04 Jan 2009 any advice on replacing paper shims at base of liners apreciated, reason being pistons being skimmed to lower compression TT Re: replacing papaer shims in block - Daniel Shane - 04 Jan 2009 Pig of a job that mate, Some people remove them with a stanley knife blade and clean up, others soak them in solvent overnight and some people used the liner itselft with valve rubbing compound on them to clean the shims off ![]() Renault and Volvo use paper and the plastic shims.
