Front upper arm bushes - Dan6457 - 03 Jan 2009 Hi there, I have stripped my front upper arms down so they can be powder coated black with all my other bits and I want to put new bushes in them. Looking on the net you can only get them if you buy complete arms, and at 125 dollars each it makes for an expensive set of bushes. I wondered if anyone else has had to replace them and if the bushes cross reference to something else? Cheers, Dan Re: Front upper arm bushes - ChrisS - 03 Jan 2009 Rob Grady appears to still sell them, that's where I brought mine. 100156 Bushing, Upper Control Arm Frt $42.44 Re: Front upper arm bushes - Dan6457 - 03 Jan 2009 Brilliant thanks Chris Blimey 42 dollars each Still much cheaper than buying all new arms though. Mine are on order from delorean north west The arms can go off for powdercoating as soon as I get a replacement rear link so it can all go off together. Chassis should be ready soon too Re: Front upper arm bushes - ChrisS - 08 Jan 2009 You had any luck finding a rear lower link Dan? I thought I had one but unfortunately it was an upper one. I have one other possible lead, waiting to hear back on that one though. I let you know if I have any luck Re: Front upper arm bushes - Dan6457 - 08 Jan 2009 Ed Udding has one so I am ok thanks. Re: Front upper arm bushes - Nick H - 28 Feb 2009 Just changed the front upper arm bushes on my car. Just bare in mind you need access to a serious press to remove them. Luckly a mate of mine has a 50 Ton hydraulic press in his workshop. Be very careful as you press them out to support the arms near the bush. Also be prepared to put a couple of weld tacks on the new bushes to stop them rotating. As others have noted the new bushes are not as tight a fit. Nick H |
