Hi Guys,
Just wondering whether it is worth rebuilding my gearbox. Done about 80K. Its starting to make a very quite whine/hum when in gear with no acceleration. Feels a bit sloppy after replacing linkage bushings too.
Also its the old 8 spline box, so a pain to get a clutch for it. I do have a spare half of 21 spline box which could be used, but condition cannot be confirmed.
Opinions being voiced please....

The whine might just be the final drive bit as opposed to the guts of the gearbox maybe?
