Slave clutch cylinder - dmcnorway - 28 Jul 2006

I'm changing my slave clutch cylinder.
On the old one it seems that the sealing washer between the clutchline and slave are made of copper. But the replacement I got is plastic.

Can someone please explain this? Have I gotten the wrong part? Or has my car had the wrong part on to begin with? (Perhaps that is why my clutch has been terribly stiff!)

I've got a brand new clutch slave cylinder at home that I bought for Flopsy but ended up not needing as all my clutch needed after replacement was a good bleed.

I'll check it tonight and let you know what its like if you want?

Yes - please check it out...

Hi Stian,

I'll sort it when I get home tonight, but it'll be quite late though as I'm going out straight from work and probably wont be home till about 10pm.

I'll take some photos of it and either post them on here if I can work out how to do it or email them to you.

If its any good to you, you can have it for what it owes me plus the postage to Norway.

Cheers,

Claire

Thats normal, mine also has a plastic washer, as do others I've seen.

Just be careful not to overtighten the fitting or you'll squish out the washer
