Brake Master Cylinder question - Barson - 26 Apr 2008

there's a gasket between the master cylinder and the servo unit - what does it do?

it's just that the gasket is of a particular shape and if i replace it with a standard o-ring what would that do?

The vacuum is contained in the servo and the brake fluid is contained in the cylinder is that not right??

any help would be appreciated

Dave.

Yeh, it does'nt really do much. Its to stop muck getting in rather than anything getting out, would'nt really be an issue if you did not fit one.

yeah.

good point about the muck

I'll be sticking two o-rings on it just to create some kind of seal.

cheeers!
