re help. my seats runners are rusted - steve.s - 27 Jul 2006

hi all

my first post and a puzzle!.

myi have taken out my seats but the runners are very rusty. beyond help.

the adjuster bar has broken on one and this is not available from dmc in the US.

does anyone know of an equivalent, or anywhere that they can be restored?.
i think too rusty to weld, has broken under the seat.

i have a spair set of grey seats that i am installing.

thanx for any help

Just a thought - if you do replace them, hang on to the old ones - they can be shot-blasted to remove rust for very little cost - tenner or thereabouts - then once clean, they could be welded quite easily. A fresh new coat of black paint and you're on your way...
