Best H4 Bulb suggestions? - Outatime - 25 Oct 2007

I am thinking of getting rid of the HID and getting H4 back on the D after all.

Anyone got suggestions on which bulb to go for? I prefer the whiter look if possible, and also the brightness of course

Anyone tried "Philips X-Treme Power H4" or the "Osram Night Breaker H4" which claims to give 80%-90% extra brightness over standard H4?

Anything that's genuinely more powerful (ie in wattage) is pushing the DeLorean's fuse box beyond safe limits. Assuming the original limits were safe anyway!

IMO decent headlights, aligned properly, coupled with standard vanilla flavoured 55/60W H4's are more than adequate.

You could have a look at:

http://www.aceparts.com/upgrade-xenon-h ... -55w-2.htm

Do not exceed standard H4 power consumption of:

60w - Main Beam
55w - Dip Beam

commonly labelled as 60/55w.

I think it was Ring that came out top of a test in practical classics.
Looks like a big choice out there.

Good luck with the search.

Nick.
