Are ours "legal"? - well technically no. Although Stu's quote would suggest otherwise! Ours are considered "illegal" and that's good for for one very good reason: We don't need to supply any documentation to have them made. Stupid, isn't it? You need to supply everything short of your inside leg measurement to get a proper plate, but to get one that's illegal, you need not supply anything.
So how far do you have to go to make the plate "illegal" - well, on a regular plate, just make the space between each letter 10mm instead of 11mm, or the margins slightly too small.
From our point of view, I'd like to keep the simple practice of making the plates in the proper font, properly spaced, just a bit smaller to fit the hole - I think that's common sense :-)
(I love the way Stu's front plate is bent backwards over the bumper - 'cos his car is -so- fast :-D )

Well Rob's is about as legal as it's possible to be :-) Actually now I come to post it, Stu's on the left, Rob's (or should that be ROB's) on the right :-D

ahhhhh those were the days..... sagging rear headliner.
And yes my front metal late has slightly bent back around the front bumper. Probably cos the car is that fast.... plus it looks more authentic american with a slightly bent up front plate. I guess that means that Dan's old De we super quick cos he "kept losing the front number plate........ honest officer!"

Thanks for the compliments Glen!
Me and my sister both had new custom number plates for our minis from first plate and they are great, I also had one made to put in the back windscreen of my car too.
As Glen said ask him or me for any details, always happy to help club members!
