Are those original? There's no signs of ruching?

Great progress Rich! Little Jealousy here.

As far as I know they are, yes. Nothing in the history about any replacements before my time, and they were a bit cracked and old looking when I got it in 2004.  So I'm 99.5% sure they're original.  There's a trace of ruching remaining on the bases but nothing on the backrests.

My car had supposedly original sheepskin seat covers when I got it too, sold them just last year.

I've made some progress in the boot region. Much cleaner and tidier but I need to get a sheet of glazed hardboard and make myself a new boot floor, it's gone rippled.

And thanks, by the way - though it's not all been fun. Much juggling of time and priorities.

Today was supposed to be just an hour of minor jobs but it turned into around 4. Oops. However the transmission shifter now corresponds to what's actually happening in the gearbox, start inhibitor issue solved, splash pans fitted along with DGo stainless splash pan bolts, TABs torqued properly with weight on wheels. And a bit of a tidy up.
I'm pretty certain they are original. The ruching reduces with time and use.

You have inspired me to look at my own car Richard....ive used nearly a full bottle of leather restorer on my seats this morning. And had it running and up to temp....for the first time in about a year. Smile
Happy to help!!  Smile

That leather restorer is lovely stuff!!

First drive in a DeLorean in 7 years...

Beautiful!
Well done Rich! Wow! You've even beaten me to it. My car is still off the road and has bee since Oct 2018! Still need to fix on the accumulator for the A/C, get it charged up with oil and gas, and then finally take it for its last official required MOT. I'm planning on hopefully finishing the technical bit during the course of May, and then take it for its MOT in June. That should give me 7 weeks or so of breaking it back in before the club weekend. I still have no idea if she's going to drive ok after all the work i've put in....! I may have to use that 7 weeks to work out bugs!
Looking good Rich, well done on the amazing resto, haven't seen your car since Ilkeston car show with Chris P a couple of years back
I think that was DickyH's car......
I think you're right - mine hasn't been out since 2015 or to a show since 2014!!

Ah was it, my brain must have assumed it was the same car, many things have happened over the past few days sorta fried me a little... oops
Not to worry - and hope all is well!

Yes, there are two Rich H's in DeLorean circles living within 8 miles of each other. My own car was last on the road in 2015. Rich's has always been on the road for 6 months each year all the way through as far as I know. I'm lucky to have the club tech advisor so close by.

My own car 6126 in front with Rich Hutchinson's 1274 behind at my In-laws’ house in Northern Ireland on our way to Eurofest 2006.
