Well, as many of you know, I've around the club for a long time.
Yesterday was the day I made a deal on 11477, an fresh import from Illinois.
She needs a little work and an MOT - but it shouldn't take much before I'm on the road. (hopefully)
None of the front lights work....... (headlights, indicators or side markers...... ) So that should be fun!
Other than that, she runs, drives, stops........ WOO HOO!!
My thanks go out to everyone in the club that lends their collective mind to provide information to guys like me. It's really appreciated.
Thanks especially to Chris P, who has answered my relentless messages and also Chris W, whom also has put up with my constant emailing for advice!
Thank you all...... but I'm sure I'll be raising numerous queries as I go.......
Hi Tris,
Its got the makings of a really good car. Low mileage 15K, Grey Manual, not been sun-baked of flooded or mucked about with....all original, what more could you ask for? One journey ends after......how many years>>>>>?
Great stuff Tris,
My advice would be to do the absolute bare minimum and get it on the road.
Have some fun with it this season and at the "back-end" of the year, you could remove your bumpers, take out "The Sir Roger Moore's" get them re-painted (about £400 the pair around here) perhaps a new headlining. Then each year do a few more Jobs.
This spreads the cost but keeps up the enjoyment....Great stuff.....
That’s my plan Chris.
She needs new tyres, the Michelin’s are cracked so I’m not sure how long they’ve been on there.
Plus none of the lights work up front (headlights, indicators/sidelights or markers.)
Also I noticed the door markers on the drivers door didn’t work.
So hopefully that’s a contact/relay/fuse thing and job done. Then I can MOT and register her and enjoy.
I’m looking forward to spending some time with her
Well done Tris, really pleased that you have found... THE ONE
Looks a really nice example, enjoy the moment... you've earned it!

Cheers Stu!
We will have to organise a mini-meet once I’m up and running.
(But you’re welcome to have a nose in the meantime of course
)
Let me know when I can come down... Just been reading your blog and 16723 is also a Jan 82 build

That's awesome!
I'll send you message once the car is here and we can liaise when's best. Most likely a Sat/Sun - that's when I'll be up M&Ds working on her I should think.
Tris
Great news, just shows you get there eventually. Now the fun really starts!
Chris
Congrats! Look forward to some trial by fire like taking it down to the valley - I certainty did!
I have been keeping an eye on this car for some time and am pleased to report that as part of the re-commissioning process, the valley was fully 'Explored' and declared good!

Thanks Chris.
The car could either be with me tomorrow 17th or Wednesday 18th.
I'm booked off work on Wednesday and I'll be spending it getting to know her and using the forums to solve the cold start issue.
I have a fair idea on how to resolve it already. CANNOT WAIT TO FIDDLE!!
Thanks everyone
Tris
well done Tris!!!
Looking forward to catching sight of you around Swansea!!!
