Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to you as a representative of your motoring club to extend a warm invitation to you and your members to attend ‘The Buckingham Classic’ which is to be held on Saturday 2nd July 2016 in Gawcott, near Buckingham. The event is being organised by Buckingham Rotary Club as part of our charitable fundraising activities, but also aims to provide some fun, interest and entertainment for the public who are attending the event. Last year over £1000 was raised for charity, and the target is to beat that this year. We hope to have a really good display of classic, vintage, veteran or just plain unusual vehicles attending the event. As this is intended from the outset as a fund-raising event, there will be an entry fee of £8 for each classic vehicle attending. If owners wish to give a higher figure, this will be greatly appreciated.
I would be very grateful if you can publicise the event amongst your club membership as soon as possible, as summer dates rapidly get taken up. We really feel that “the more the merrier” applies here, as the location in Gawcott has lots of space. If a significant number of members from any given club wish to attend and to have their own parking area, this can be achieved if we have sufficient notice, and the numbers bringing their vehicles justify it. Full details of the event can be found on the Buckingham Rotary website (www.buckinghamrotary.co.uk ), but as a taster, in addition to the cars and motorcycles, there will be a pig roast, children’s entertainment, afternoon cream teas and an evening barbeque with live music. The poster giving full details of the Buckingham Classic event can be found on the main or home page, with a separate button on the same page providing the entry form; this should be printed and sent by post after completion to the main Event Organiser, David Jackson at the following address: 1 Villiers Close, Buckingham, MK18 1JH
Yours sincerely,
Matt Vincent
