I don't know how long this car will take, I only know I will be building the car I always wanted to build!
Here's the run-down of the plan

2.8 twin chargecooled twin turbo (I've had the donor engine for a couple of years already, and a set of MFaulks cams quietly biding their time on my shelf. Just a set of pistons to go...)
RHD conversion
Full leather interior retrim with sound insulation
Power steering
Full remote entry system
Rear anti-roll bar
*possibly* I'll finally get around to engineering my front lower wishbone idea

Good for Martin, we all need a project. I'm a little surprised by the RHD conversion, i'd never thought were were keen on them.

For me the fun will be in the project. A RHD conversion just adds to the challenge and will add to the car's value, assuming I do a good job :lol:

I'd be interested in wheels/brakes still. I thought perhaps they weren't really available any longer (it makes sense you could get them for yourself though!).
I'm kinda surprised at the cost of refurbing the old ones (brake calipers). I've been quoted £120 a corner. Oh well!

That's horrific!
I did my two fronts, myself, last summer.
Cost the price of some elbow grease, some electricity for the Dremel, some new EBay calliper seal kits and some high temperature engine enamel to paint them up.
Turned out pretty well I thought...

Yup. New ones from most US places are about that too, but they require a core exchange so it'll work out far far more due to weight. Not many "good" options about. I may try myself but it's a job I've never attempted.

When I did mine I just bought a pair from Ebay for the fronts. Brand new no exchange:

Double check these are correct as I just did a quick search. The only difference is/was is that the thread is metric on the hard line going in to the caliper so you will need to change the hard line on your car as well.
Rear's are available refurbed from Dave Howarth for around £125 a pair exchange.

They offer three levels of finish. I had the Premium (polymer coating) service on my front calipers which cost £60 each. One of the
very few companies I'm happy to recommend.
we recommend Bigg Red too, they did all 4 calipers on our Toyota Sera, which were rusted to ****
as the car had been stood for about 7yrs, and they came back (in their standard finish) as good as
new.
Cost was £160 all in, including VAT and return carriage by next day courier.
An excellent company, cannot recommend them highly enough.
I got a quote from Big yesterday - unfortunately they're pricey as well. The basic painted finish is £80 for the fronts (each) and rears are in three figures. I was hoping for plating (starts at £99 for the fronts).
I'm happy to spend money - and I'd like to keep the car original but.. well, I can get new stuff for a few quid more. Seems a bit silly.
