i understand that the pirelli p6000s are the ones to go for but are also impossible to find.
if i don't go for the pirelllis what should i get?

anyone got any preferences?
I don't 'personally' think it makes much difference on the front, more down to personal choice. I put yokahamas on the front because that was the cheapest 'decent' tyre I could get at the time. I'm personally not keen on Michelin as the sidewalls seem to craze and crack fairly quickly they may be fine but don't look good! Not much of an answer to your question I'm afraid!
Chris
I just put Runway Enduro 816 tyres on LEX at the front. Runway are actually differently branded Federal tyres for the UK (maybe Europe). They've only been on the car for a month, and I've only driven around 400 miles on them, but I must say I'm impressed. They even remove my speed related wobble I had with the Pirelli P6000's above 63mph. I've tested up to 88mph (had to! 8) ) and is now smooth as silk all the way. Big Grin

...the best bit...?

Around £40 a tyre including fitting and balancing.
The only real reason to have P6000's is if you are running P600's on the rear so as to have a semi 'matched' set.

The P6000 was discontinued a few years ago and has gone the way of the dodo.

From your links the Continentals and Bridgestones would be your best bang for buck - the Michellins are too pricey (in my opinion). I would steer clear of budget tyres. I know Gez has (or at least had) a set of the Bridgestone Turanzas fitted to his car.
cool, cheers for the fast replies this is good info.

i'll have a look what our local fitter has in stock from brands i've heard of.

i have got the right size yes? 195/60 R14 86H
Yes sir, that is the correct size.

Front: 195/60/14

Rear: 235/60/15
I actually have Goodyear Eagle NCT5's on the front of mine to semi-match the original NCT60's on the back (which ahve now been replaced by Pirellis for the time being at least!)
well, i've ordered a set of the Continentals as they seem to have a good wet rating and the autobahns are horrible to drive on in the rain.

actually, come to think of it i should pick up some new wiper blades mine weren't really seeming to have much effect last week.
Whats this "driving your Delorean in rain" business ? i'm horrified.
