I 'think' this is the company that tried to take over the running of the NEC event, whilst no car club has yet to hear what's happening about the November event I'm guessing they have been un-successful so are starting an event of there own. Promising cheaper entry, free parking, cheaper hotels plus lots of other bits and bobs. Anyone interested in the DOC making a show at this event for the weekend (only Sat & Sun) with set up until 9pm on Friday.
Dear Dave,

I hope this is of interest? Not sure who specifically to send this to re-events. Yours is a name (along with Chris’) I remember!

Same event space as the North West Indoor Classic show, much smaller, but next to the Trafford Centre so growing in popularity. Or if you want to walk slightly further indoor skiing or indoor skydiving.

I don't understand what you/they mean about the NEC, the website and advertising appear to show it running as usual.... I know the hotels are all pretty much full Sad

The old organisers made redundant/retired all the staff and closed the office at the NEC. These were all taken on by another exhibition company who wanted to take over the running of the NEC show, this has been going on for months now, but it now seems Clarion events has retained the event. Despite now being at the end of May no car club has yet to be told if they have stand space or not!! The event is happening just no one knew who was organising it. Thats why I think this new event has been created to try and compete with it. Hope this makes sence now.
Chris
Why you up for doing both
I'm up for being at the Manchester event. I'm struggling to make the Friday build-up (and therefore show my car) due to work hours, but happy to be there all day Sat/Sun and do the breakdown.

Hi Chris,
Just to clarify.

Andy Rouse and his team have run the NEC classic car show ( for Clarion Events) for many years.
They all lost their jobs last year when Clarion decided to organise the NEC event direct from London, rather than Birmingham.
Andy and his team then took over the Manchester venue for this new show. Based on my dealing with Andy and his team, over many years ( Derby Plating stand etc.)
He is very professional and a good bloke to deal with.

I was hoping to be involved with this show, but unfortunately my better half has booked us into a very expensive London hotel for a family event that weekend!

Dave Howarth is willing to get involved but he needs volunteers to come forward to man the stand.....we do have a stand booked. Please contact Dave or Chris W or Me ( if you are stuck) and we will try and tie it together.
Any other volunteers for this.... it's a excellent event to bring the family to, they can shop for hours at the Trafford centre while you visit the show (over the bridge, and much closer than the halls at the NEC...)

Just to echo what John wrote above, this promises to be a very good new event with reasonable pricing/food/hotels and shopping all near-by. If any one can help out for a few hours or with setting up that would be really great.
Tickets Etc would be provided. For any members simply visiting the show the advert for discounted tickets is now in the 'members' section of this forum/and should be in the next magazine.
