Hi
this is one odd advert, for someone spending £14k very vague, what parts are there, what parts are missing.

someone would need to be very experienced (like us!) or Chris N etc to put things back together.

he states welding frame as if its a 5 minute job. i assume he realises frames are welded box sections for strength, you cannot necessarily just chop it around, weld bits back in. a fillet weld is much different to a butt weld...it has to be done properly, then re-coated (or galvanised)

We all know it would be very rare for a PRV to die from valley corrosion?. why would it be that bad, and fitting a Volvo engine is not original and does destroy originality (if you want that-i would), it does not matter it is still a PRV, its not a 1980's Delorean PRV.

He would have been better selling it complete, it would have been worth more money if it looked like a Delorean as rust or not most of them (including poor) actually look ok in photos.

not sure it is worth the £14k even, its a huge amount of time even to get it running under its own power. i would have said for this one even down to £8-9k (and another £20k getting it to a decent car-especially factoring in any labour)

just my thoughts.

i am desperate for another D, but even i would pass on this one. i would rather the bad $19.5k one at BCC with the rusted frame.....at least i know where i am starting from.

New one. WOW, the interior looks like it was made for Kanye West or something. UGLY IMO. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1981-DeLorean-D...Sw2z1dWcOY

That is horrific
Any car interior is ghastly in red. A delorean, more so. I think im also one of the few that think the tan interior isnt very appealing either.

Also, why would you use a picture with tyre cleaner on? No chassis pics and looks like more care has been taken on cosmetics that mechanicals. Pictures arent exactly high quality either. Still if it runs as good as he claims in the very minimal description, it could be a decent project. That interior has to go though even if you only recoloured it. Yuck!
would love to save this one from the humiliation of that shocking red interior, and give it the love it deserves but alas i'm still short on the money as usual hopefully its returned to stock by someone
The best way to make a Delorean unreliable ...is to stick a turbo on it!
Especially one that hasnt been driven for 5years
Thats probably why it hasn't run for 5 years!

I bought "Frenchy" ..with its engine in bits,  (from Paris) knowing that the engine damage was caused by its Turbo. It had stood for over 10 years....but in a nice dry, dark barn.

However, I had already lined up a brand new engine from Dave Howarth and the rest of the car was near immaculate.

I believe Matt Clarke (the other one...the pilot) still has the car. Smile
Been a while since we had any 'genuine' adverts on eBay, I suspect this wont be the last this year as peoples circumstances change:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DELOREAN-DMC-...1438.l2649
At 38k seems very top end and with no chassis pictures to back it up.

They must be going up in value again - it’s now showing £45,000...
I have a bad feeling about this eBay seller....he has another 450 items including a several Rolls Royce and a RR project for £150K!

If anyone fancies a quick trip up to Washington Tyne and Wear I'd be interested to see what they find?

There have been numerous similar phishing scams (which I have reported to eBay) just trying to get your details....but this one looks different.
Lack of any real description and spelling mistakes are red flags
