Hi
this is one odd advert, for someone spending £14k very vague, what parts are there, what parts are missing.
someone would need to be very experienced (like us!) or Chris N etc to put things back together.
he states welding frame as if its a 5 minute job. i assume he realises frames are welded box sections for strength, you cannot necessarily just chop it around, weld bits back in. a fillet weld is much different to a butt weld...it has to be done properly, then re-coated (or galvanised)
We all know it would be very rare for a PRV to die from valley corrosion?. why would it be that bad, and fitting a Volvo engine is not original and does destroy originality (if you want that-i would), it does not matter it is still a PRV, its not a 1980's Delorean PRV.
He would have been better selling it complete, it would have been worth more money if it looked like a Delorean as rust or not most of them (including poor) actually look ok in photos.
not sure it is worth the £14k even, its a huge amount of time even to get it running under its own power. i would have said for this one even down to £8-9k (and another £20k getting it to a decent car-especially factoring in any labour)
just my thoughts.
i am desperate for another D, but even i would pass on this one. i would rather the bad $19.5k one at BCC with the rusted frame.....at least i know where i am starting from.
